Is Jayavarman II a good general in Evony?

You can’t go wrong with Jayavarman II when it comes to utilizing him as a Monster Hunting General or even as a Mounted PvP General. His Special Skill, Khmer King, gives a huge 45 attack buff to Mounted Troops and a further 25% HP and Defense to both Ground Troops and Mounted Troops. However, don’t let this Ground Troop buff fool you, he is overall quite poor with this troop type and you should only focus his marches on Mounted Troops.

Jayavarman II – Special Skill

An Evony General’s Special Skill is always active and requires no development. Read the description carefully to ensure it is having the impact that you expect.

Khmer King

Increases mounted troops’ attack by 45% and increases ground troops and mounted troops’ defense and HP by 25% when General is leading the army to attack.

Ascended Special Skill Buffs

Below are the additional buffs that an ascended Jayavarman II will receive to his Special Skill for each ascended star level.

• 1 Star – Mounted Troop Attack +5% and HP +15%.
• 2 Star – Marching Troop Death into Wounded Rate +8%.
• 3 Star – Marching Mounted Troop Attack +8% and HP +5%.
• 4 Star – Ground Troop and Mounted Troop Defense +20% and HP +30%.
• 5 Star – Marching Mounted Troop Attack +25%, HP and Defense +15%.

Jayavarman II – Specialities

These skills are unlocked once the Evony General reaches level 25. They can be expensive to develop, requiring Gems and Runestones. Read our Evony General Guide for more details.

• March Speed +10%
• Marching Mounted Troop Attack +20%

King of Lower Chenla

• Mounted Troop Attack +40%
• Attacking Mounted Troop and Ground Troop HP +10%
• Attacking Mounted Troop and Ground Troop Defense +20%

The below builds outline which skill books and equipment refines you should use depending on your requirements.

Big Prey Hunter

This build is ideal for players who are looking to take down big monster prey. It sacrifices everything in favor of mounted attack and march size via equipment refines and skill books. This build will ensure you do maximum damage to boss monsters on the first hit. This will minimize your losses and allow you to take on higher-level bosses for better rewards.

• Skill Books:
• Lvl 4 Mounted Troop Attack Against Monster – Mounted Attack Against Monster +45%
• Lvl 4 Mounted Troop Attack – Mounted Attack +25%
• Lvl 4 March Size – March Size +12%
• Equipment Refines:
• Spear – Mounted Troop Attack % x4
• Armor – Mounted Troop Defense % x4
• Boots – Mounted Troop Defense % x4
• Helmet – Mounted Troop HP % x4
• Leg Armor – Mounted Troop HP % x4
• Ring – Mounted Troop Attack % x4

Looter Hunter Hybrid

This build will allow you to take down big boss monsters whilst also maximizing your loot return. It replaces the march size skill book with the luck skill book to increase the double-item drop rate. This will of course decrease your damage but the double drops are good compensation.

• Lvl 4 Mounted Troop Attack Against Monster – Mounted Attack Against Monster +45%
• Lvl 4 Luck – Double Items Drop Rate +18%
• Lvl 4 Mounted Troop Attack – Mounted Attack +25%
• Equipment Refines:
• Spear – Mounted Troop Attack % x4
• Armor – Mounted Troop Defense % x4
• Boots – Mounted Troop Defense % x4
• Helmet – Mounted Troop HP % x4
• Leg Armor – Mounted Troop HP % x4
• Ring – Mounted Troop Attack % x4

Mounted PvP

Mounted PvP can be very useful in the early and late stages of the game. Early game, players will have huge, mounted marches which you can destroy with your higher-mounted buff. Late game you will start to come across keeps set up with ground troop defenses, mounted troops annihilate them. This build will maximize your mounted attack and speed for a mounted PvP march.
