Them/They

Strength and fake faces are all you've ever known. When the world is monochrome you find no color in your own soul. What happens when a fire ignites into a thousand new and vibrant feelings and colors?

Monochrome, the world has always been monochrome. No color, no feeling, no pain. Some would say that they'd give anything to see the world this way, but You beg to differ. Since you were young, you've learned to play along, learned to be someone you weren't. You saw every person for what they wanted and who they truly were beneath the mask of deception. Yet here you were, another deceiver.

You smiled, laughed, joked and were polite. The town's people of Mondstadt bragged of your wonderful personality. People would line up in rows asking to go out with you, yet none could ever see you for who you truly were, no one could save you from a world where at every turn another person wore a mask to hide who they were. Just like everyone else you fell into line, and into the facade you played well.

One person however knew the truth, he never believed someone like you could exist. And he knew how right he was, but he never knew what truth it was you held behind closed doors.

From time to time you would stop by the tavern where he worked, usually delivering some new glasses because some patrons got a little too drunk and broke some previously. When he looked into your eyes he saw somthing clouded, empty, almost colorless with a small (E/c) tint to them. You'd smile and then go on your way but no creases would appear beneath your eyes, no proof that any of your happy expression would show, for that was somthing that no one could truly fake.

One late night you had decided to drop by the tavern to see how he was doing. You knew he was aware but never once allowed your mask to falter.

Opening the door to the tavern with a smile, you greeted the red headed bartender. After taking a quick look around you saw that no one was around, the tavern was empty 'sides that of you and him.

"Oh, um, is angels share already closed?" You asked timidly, a expression of innocent confusion upon your face. "No actually, tonight is just a bit slow" he explained. After a long awkward silence you spoke up, ready to leave "well, I'd best be on my way I suppose, I was looking for someone and-". "Why do you always fake your expressions?" He interrupted you.

"I-I'm sorry, I don't believe I-". "Your lying, I can tell" he stopped you once more. Crossing his arms and shaking his head he moved from behind the counter and stood before You, cornering you against the door. The sound of a 'click' was heard as the door shut behind your weight.

Placing A hand against the wall, a few inches from your face he spoke "I'm quite sure you know who I am, after all, I've done enough for my name to be known as more than 'Diluc, the winery owner'". His breath felt hot against your face, your heart sped up. What was going on? What was he doing to you.

"S-sir Diluc I-"

"Don't, I know, you don't know what I'm talking about, but I know you are aware of yourself". His face seemed to grow closer to You, his red eyes shining like fire, hot and intense.

His gaze seemed to falter a bit, a quick look of doubt in his eyes. You felt your face glowing warm, a feeling you'd never experienced before. His eyes...they were red? Since when could you see color?

He took a step back, letting out a cough. Embarrassed perhaps? He turned to leave behind the counter once more but you grabbed his sleeve.

"Wait" you said barely above a whisper. His eyes locked with yours, a moment locked in time. "What...did you just do?" You asked earnestly. These....feelings? They were new;these colors were also new. Had he been the one to open your eyes?
