Spore is updating?
I thought spore servers shut down in 2012 or something. Why is my game updating now, in 2017?

The servers are still functioning. The update patches some game files so that they point to the right servers, since they've moved a few times over the years.

Ifso, I'd play Spore again.

Yup, online play works again! The same reason why I returned just a couple days ago. Just make sure to login with your Origin account.
